  • 2) Through the nose
  • 3) Moving my breakpoint down lane
  • 5) Need to just let it go at the bottom. Through the nose.
  • 6) Bit of a spinner, missed the spare left.
  • 9) Missed it way right this time. Would have been dead on the 8.

  • 2) Stuck a bit and had some loft. But hey, I made a spare that had the 3 pin!
  • 3) Took out a piece of tape and moved in to make up for the fact that my release would be better. Trip 4.
  • 4) Ball hit a bit flat. And here begin my weirdness issues with lane 17.
  • 6) Bit of a spinner, didn't get out super clean.
  • 7) Lost it off my hand, stuff came off the wall to take out the 5-7
  • 8) Trying to straighten it out, flat 10
  • 9) Good shot. In retrospect (we tied) should have gone for count, not throwing it 30 mph.
  • 10) Could have been a lot worse.
  • 11) Good shot.

Their anchor went X9/, and our anchor struck out to tie. Turns out that their 2nd bowler had gone X9/ in the 10th, but the scorer marked it X81. He had a spare in the 9th, so if it had been marked correctly, they would have won by one. Unfortunately, they didn't bring it up until the end of the game. After a couple near fights and being told "F*** you! F*** you! F*** you you little piece of s****!" the rulebook prevailed - the 2 options were to settle on the tie, or re-bowl. So, a tie it was.

  • 1) Stuck on my thumb. Threw strike shot on the spare, 32 over 15 - bad shot, but it looked ok, if a bit high. Should be good 1 and 1 in.
  • 4) Not getting out super clean, need to take out another piece of tape.
  • 5) This shot was beautiful. Execution and release were amazing.
  • 6) Step in again to make up for a cleaner release. Keep the string alive!
  • 7) Through the nose, rolled the 3 pin.
  • 8) Real light, something rolled the 2-7.
  • 9) Karma. The ball had even rolled out well before it hit the pocket! Yet the solid 8 stands.

Nice series. Looks like you bowl better after a good fight. I had one of those solid 8s the other night.

Nice shooting. You pick up those 7 pins and you have 700.

@Rich, I know! I usually shoot spares with my index finger hard against my middle. After those 2, I moved it out a bit and felt much more confident with the way the ball came off my hand.

Thanks guys :)

One of the things I've changed recently with my spare shooting is to not break my wrist back. I was having a problem where my wrist was twisting as I released it and adding a slight (very slight) cup to my wrist is keeping my hand in a better position through the release. My single pin spare shooting has gotten much better as a result.
