Tried to use a ball that I had redrilled. Bowled with it this afternoon with good success. But, I struggled in the first game with a ball that wasn't good for the lanes.
Games
Game 1
Score: 147
Pair: 25-26
I started with 4 spares, and the ball just wouldn't finish. Then split, washout, split, cherry, spare and miss a ten. I fought a ball that I shouldn't have used on these lanes. The Big R Bang is a medium ball, and these are heavy oil lanes.
Game 2
Score: 254
Pair: 25-26
Switched to my Terminator with great success. This ball handles the oil, even with carrydown. I just started at 25, rolled over 12 to 8 and let the ball come in.
With my cap added, I won the handicap pot.
Game 3
Score: 244
Pair: 25-26
Started with 4 and ended with 4. Both the anchor and I finished with 4 to win the game by 4 pins. My 4-bagger brought us close. Their anchor got a split, which opened the door for our anchor to strike out. Great comeback.
With my cap added, I won the third handicap pot.
Then I was told that I also won the King of the Hill. I thought I was out with my first game, but I apparantly beat my opponent. Good night at the pot games.

Don't fight a ball that doesn't match the lane conditions. Change immediately. |

Nice finish. It can be tempting to want to use a new ball, or a re-drilled ball, no matter what. The good ones know when to resist that. |
