Tonight was fun. Our center hosted the senior women's state tournament so the Sunday night leagues bowled on what was left of the tournament shot. It was good practice to get an unknown pattern. The center will be hosting tourmanents over the next few weekends so I'm looking foward to the challenge.

Tonight, the pattern played long, either by design or because of carrydown. The heads were burnt pretty good and the track was out of way. I started playing inside with a lot of angle, crossing just inside the third arrow trying to hit 7 or so at the breakpoint. The backend recovry just wasn't there with the Ultra Zone. I had my Evolution with me and I should have tried that ball from this line but I decided to move way outside. It was a good move, there was oil outside of 5. After a few hard 7s I tried the Solid LevRG from outside. In game 2 I briefly looked like a left handed Norm Duke killing the rack from outside but in game 3 reality set in. Poor spare shooting cost me a 600 but it was fun bowling tonight.

When that outside line is there it's a blast to play. No one can do it like Norm, especially the way he sets up the lanes for his shot, but it's sure fun to try. Are you going to be bowling in some of those upcoming tournaments?
