Not a bad 538 considering that I basically wasted the 2nd game testing a new thumb hole drilling on the Infinite One. It felt good in the pro shop but when he had me do some practice throws on the rug it didn't really want to come off my thumb. But when I just held the ball the thumb was sliding in and out with ease. I figured if I tried it in the game that the relaxed grip and momentum from my freely swinging arm would get my thumb out.

I guess the ceiling tiles were never really in danger but I did have to look up to follow the arc of the ball until it crashed into the lane a little past the arrows, bounced once and then dove into the gutter. Many of my fellow bowlers were highly entertained by that toss. After that he lathered up the sides of my thumb with a yellow grease pencil and had me slide the thumb in and out until the insert was stained, then opened up the oval a little more. Tried it again in the 5th and it stuck just a little and picked of the 7, after that it came off my hand nicely but I wasted a couple more frames trying to find a line before switching back to the Inferno.

Spare shooting looks bad in the 1st game but those misses were very close, kind of like lipping out a putt in golf. I'm ok with that and will put a lot of practice in on spares on Friday nights after the new year. I also need to become more familiar with what my arsenol can do, I'm hoping to be able to talk the owner into putting a heavier pattern on lane 8 for my practice. We shall see.

Next Wednesday is free beer and free food. Wooo! No more Thursday league until 1/7 :-(
