Best score of the year on lanes and a shot that I didn't like - go figure.

Lanes were tough to figure. Out of bounds at 5 with heavy oil in the middle, but pretty dry on the back. I started practice as usual around 20 out to 10. First shot found the out of bounds and guttered, hmmm. Seemed to find an OK line around 16 to 8, but it wasn't tolerant of misses. Too far outside and it wasn't coming back, too far inside and it didn't come back either. After a couple of washouts and 2-4-10's I figured I needed something else quick.

Tried a down the middle shot with a little less speed and more revs. Seemed like I had enough backend to carry off hits and packed the pocket when on. No time left so that was how I started. Promptly pulled first shot left but carried brooklyn. Although I was off my mark on several shots it wound up being a pretty forgiving shot with light hits leaving mostly 2 pins which I converted. Finished with a clean 223.

Second game started light but promptly reeled off 3 strikes, 2-8 conversion and 4 more strikes before getting a little loose in the 10th - finished with a 243.

Last game I seemed to be getting some carry down and just wasn't getting the back end until too late. Fortunately I had some easy leaves and my spare shooting was on again. No doubles, but a decent 193 finish.

I didn't think about it at the time but it wound up being my first clean series in a while. No split leaves helped out a lot to this end.
